- Early access — both memberships
- Get new releases and viewing apps ahead of their general rollout. Every stable release ultimately becomes available to everyone.
- Preview builds and experiments — founders only
- Lifetime Founding Members can try work in progress and experimental features, and help improve them with feedback. Preview builds may have rough edges. This access is not included in the standard annual membership.
- Roadmap participation — founders only
- Lifetime Founding Members can join roadmap discussions, share ideas, and vote on priorities. This benefit is not included in the standard annual membership.
- Permanent founder recognition
- Your Founding Member status and badge stay with you. Receive development updates and follow the work you helped make possible.
Membership supports the project; it isn't a software license you need to buy. Chroma and every stable feature remain free for everyone.
The first release.
Then what comes next.
- In the first release
- Chroma Server on macOS and Windows; ChromaTV on Apple TV; and remote access via Tailscale. Your media stays on your hardware.
- On the roadmap
- Family accounts, separate watch history, Roku, Google TV, DVR / live television, and NAS support are planned for later, depending on funding. NAS support also requires hardware testing and has no release date yet. Founding Members can try preview builds early; stable releases of these features will be free for everyone. They are not included in the first release.

- Possible additional costs
- Separately licensed content, third-party services, or unavoidable direct per-user third-party costs may require separate payment.
- Your hardware and media
- 716 Ventures does not host your library. You provide the hardware and media, secure your server, and are responsible for the legality of what you store and stream and for third-party services you connect.
- If development stops
- You keep the software you already have. There would be no further updates from us; the installed software would not be remotely switched off.
- Membership availability
- Memberships aren't open yet. Leave your email for launch news and a note when you can join. Payment terms will be published before enrollment opens.
