    I lead product priorities, roadmap and scope decisions, and help the team connect customer needs to business goals. We agree on what progress looks like and use it to guide the work.

    How should it work? What’s getting in the customer’s way?

    I guide design direction and important user-flow decisions, and review the work with your designers and delivery partners. The details should add up to a product people can understand and use.

    Fractional Chief Technology Officer

    What will hold up? Where are we making the work harder than it needs to be?

    I guide architecture, engineering priorities, and technical tradeoffs. That includes reviewing builds, evaluating vendors, and helping the team make decisions it can support as the product grows.

Lead the decisions

I join planning sessions, review work, help resolve disagreements, and give the team clear direction when priorities compete.

Work through the details

I stay close to the work through design reviews, technical discussions, and decisions with the team. In the right circumstances, that could include hands-on involvement, agreed around a specific need.

Reserve time for the whole job

The retainer reserves time for planning, preparation, design and technical reviews, and communication between sessions.

All work is remote. We agree on working hours, time-zone overlap, and how we’ll communicate before the engagement begins.

I work with your team to decide what matters, make the hard calls, and see the work through. I take responsibility for the areas we agree on: product direction, design decisions, technical judgment, and the work of keeping them connected.

I work directly with founders, employees, agencies, and contractors. You work directly with me.

I’ve been designing and building software for more than twenty-five years. Open source, mobile, cloud, and now AI. Every wave changes the tools. Good judgment still matters.

I build my own products alongside the consulting work. The decisions I help you make are grounded in work I still do.

Inside The Factory

Scope agreed before we start.

From $6,000 per month.

Engagements start at $6,000 per month, with an initial three-month commitment. The monthly retainer reflects the responsibilities and weekly availability your team needs. One leadership area or a combination—we scope the work to fit the capacity.

Room for three clients.

We start by understanding the business, the people, and the decisions that need attention. Together, we establish priorities for the first ninety days and review them as the work develops.

I work with a maximum of three fractional clients at a time.

Before you write.

Can we bring you in for just one area?
Yes. Product, design, and technical leadership can be contracted individually, in pairs, or together.
Can you lead our agency or contractors?
Yes. Your team can include employees, outside partners, or both. We establish who owns which decisions and how we’ll work together.
Will you design or write code?
The engagement centers on product, design, and technical leadership. In the right circumstances, I may contribute hands-on design or engineering work. We would agree on that involvement based on the team’s needs, priorities, and available capacity.
How much time do we get?
We agree on reserved weekly availability before starting. That time covers planning, team conversations, preparation, reviews, and async communication.
Do you work on-site?
No. All engagements are remote.
