About Flickr Archive

Flickr Archive is a self-hosted, read-only web app for keeping and browsing your Flickr life after you leave the platform. You import your official Flickr data export once—metadata and media ZIPs—then explore everything locally with no Flickr account or live API. It’s meant for anyone who wants a private, permanent copy of their photostream, albums, tags, and comments, running on their own machine or a private server.

After import, the app becomes a personal archive viewer: a masonry photostream, album browsing in Flickr’s original order, full photo and video detail with metadata and comments, and fast full-text search. Thumbnails keep grids snappy while originals stay available for zoom and playback. The experience is deliberately simple and offline-friendly—import once, then browse forever.

What stands out

One-time ZIP import — Upload or CLI-import your Flickr export; the app extracts, matches, thumbnails, and indexes everything into a local SQLite archive

Photostream browsing — Paginated masonry grid, newest first, with adjustable column density

Photo & video detail — Full-size viewing, zoom, metadata, tags, comments, and prev/next navigation

Albums — Cover previews and album grids that preserve Flickr’s sort order

Full-text search — Fast FTS5 search across titles, descriptions, and tags, with media-type filters and popular tags

Archive overview — About page with profile info, photo/album/comment/tag counts, date range, and disk size
